Large scale phishing attacks against registrars

During the last 2 weeks several large domain registrars have been targeted by email phishing attacks.

Scammers have sent emails to domain owners, warning that their domain will be suspended. In the email you are invited to click a link. Clicking the link downloads malware to your computer. The email looks like it is sent by a large domain registrar, like for example Ascio.

Never click links in suspicious emails

If there is anyhting to report about your website, we will always contact your directly and we will never ask you to download a file.

If you have received a suspicious email, please delete it immediately and don't click the link. Feel free to contact our support if you have any questions.

Example of the scam email:

Subject: Domain Name have been suspended

Dear Customer name,

The Domain Name have been suspended for violation of the Ascio Technologies, Inc Abuse Policy.

Multiple warnings were sent by Ascio Technologies, Inc Spam and Abuse Department to give you an opportunity to address the complaints we have received.

We did not receive a reply from you to these email warnings so we then attempted to contact you via telephone.

We had no choice but to suspend your domain name when you did not respond to our attempts to contact you.
