What is ICANN?

ICANN is a non-profit organization that manages the internet. They help to keep the internet stable and secure and decide all policies for top-level domains and name servers.

All domain registrars need to comply with the rules set by ICANN, for example:

  • Require customers to agree with their terms.
  • Publish information in the WHOIS and make sure it stays up to date.
  • Inform registrants when their domain is about to expire.

One.com is an ICANN accredited domain registrar. This means that we are fulfilling the requirements set by ICANN. If you want to learn more about the role and function of ICANN, check out their website.
