Domain
Who is registered as the domain owner?
We always register the domain in your name.Who do I pay the annual domain fee to?
All annual fees for domains (excluding .dk domains) are charged by One.com via the annual invoice, which is sent out around 60 days prior to a subscription period ending. The annual fee for .dk domains is collected in the first year by One.com and then in following years by DK Hostmaster A/S. DK Hostmaster has the following address:
DK Hostmaster A/S
Kalvebod Brygge 43
1560 Copenhagen V
Denmark
www.dk-hostmaster.dk
IMPORTANT
As information on domain expiry dates, including the registered owner's contact information, is publicly available for many domains, there are companies which try to collect the fee without being authorised to do so. This applies to companies such as 'Domain Registry of America' who send out unauthorised invoices. If you, as our customer, are in doubt about who you should pay, it is important that you contact support@one.com who will be able to help you.
Can I have several domains on one web hotel?
No. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide several domains on one web hotel. It will however be possible to set up an additional web space and add a script which forwards the relevant domain/web space to a different domain/web hotel. This does however require 2 subscriptions. How long does it take to move a domain to One.com?
When your web space has been set up, we start the domain transfer. It usually takes 1 to 3 days. Can I change the name of my domain?
When the domain has been sent for registration, it is unfortunately not possible to change the name of the domain. How do I move my .com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/.name domain to you?
When we order the transfer of a .com/.net/.org/.info./.biz/.name domain, our registrar (ASCIO) sends a mail to the domain's administrative contact. The approval link in this mail should be clicked in order to approve the transfer. The domain will only be transferred after this approval has been given. If you are registered as the administrative contact, but no longer have access to the registered mail address, you should contact your current provider and ask them to update your mail address.
What is an Internationalized Domain Name (IDN)?
An internationalized domain name (IDN) is an Internet domain that contains one or more non-ASCII characters e.g. ó, ü or ø. Some domain types allow the use of almost any local character in a domain name.Since the non-ASCII characters are not fully supported by web servers and applications such as e-mail, we have decided not to offer IDN domain names at One.com.
Who are Domain Renewal Group and Domain Registry Of America (DROA)?
The renewal of a domain is handled by One.com, who therefore charges an annual domain fee. The only exception is the .dk domain which is managed and charged by DK Hostmaster. However, since a domain's contact information is obtainable via public so-called WHOIS databases on the Internet, it happens that certain companies attempt to wrongfully charge a domain fee.
Companies with a business model based on this unethical practice are Domain Renewal Group, Namejuice.com and Domain Registry Of America (DROA). There exists no complete list of such companies, and the same firm may operate under different names.
The company's method is mass sending of invoice-like letters and emails to domain owners while pretending to be the rightful registrar and accountable for the domain's renewal. The company does not clearly unveil its intentions, but the aim is to convince the owner to transfer the domain, giving the company control over the domain for a number of years.
When a domain owner enters into an agreement with such company, it will often turn out to be very difficult for the domain owner to change hosting provider during an expensive contractual subscription period.
If you are in doubt of how to react to invoice-like requests regarding your domain, sent from anyone else than One.com, please contact our support before paying the invoice.
