Charity website to launch in March The website See the Difference will launch on 23 March, according to charity and social enterprise website Third Sector.

Third Sector online's Kaye Wiggins writes that the site will show videos of fundraising and charity initiatives, and allow users to post the content onto other websites. Wiggins says that the goal of the site is to raise almost £500m for various causes over its first half-decade of operation.

Charities will upload their videos to the site, Wiggins writes, enabling them to highlight particularly worthy causes that prospective charitable givers can donate to. The charities, according to Wiggins, will have to spend any donations given through the site on the cause advertised, and will not be able to use the donations as general funding.

Experts say that the recent disaster in Haiti highlighted the internet's ability to help people respond to serious issues, and sites like See the Difference are very much in the same spirit. Video technology will help UK charities raise money, as it helped open the eyes of the world to the devastation in Haiti.
