Glenn Beck launches news website TheBlaze.com

Written: Sep 1, 2010 Category: Website
Conservative commentator Glenn Beck, who hosts a show on Fox news, recently started a news website, TheBlaze.com. Conservative American political commentator Glenn Beck recently launched a news website, TheBlaze.com, as the latest step in Beck’s rise as a leading voice in American political discourse. The announcement came days after his “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington D.C.

The website claims to offer news and “quality reporting” about issues within the United States. Most of the news will deal with popular political issues in the U.S., but it will also represent a voice for the growing Tea Party movement in the country. Beck has become a leader among American conservatives, and the website will also feature stories and other multimedia pieces discussing issues the Tea Partiers believe to be “underrepresented by the mainstream media”.

Beck reportedly decided to begin the website after coverage of the rally in Washington reported attendance figures and other details that he believed to be untrue. For example, Fox News, one of Beck’s employers, reported there were between 300,000 and 600,000 people at the rally, while CBS News reported there were fewer than 100,000.

TheBlaze.com is another step in Beck’s currently skyrocketing career, which includes a show on Fox News and a radio show that broadcasts on weekdays on more than 400 stations throughout the U.S.
