Daily Telegraph website attacked by hackers

Written: Apr 15, 2010 Category: Webspace - Domain - Website
The Daily Telegraph website was recently hacked by people angry over the treatment of Romanians in England. The website for the Daily Telegraph was recently hacked by a group concerned over the way Romanians are being treated in the English media, according to a report by the Guardian.

The hackers left a message decrying the use of the word "gypsy" to describe Romanians along with a picture of the Romanian flag and an apparent logo for the so-called Romanian National Security.

The message appeared in the Wine and Dine and Short Breaks section of the newspaper website. It was reported to the attention of the Daily Telegraph by Sunbelt Software.

The hacking cell is unknown in Romania, Sunbelt says, and the software company could not determine the method used to hack into the website.

"We are sick and tired of seeing how some garbage like you try to mock our country, and try to create for us a completely different picture compared to the real one, and calling us 'Romanian gypsies'", the message said, as translated by Sunbelt. "Guess what? Gypsies aren't Romanians, morons".

A hacking group also recently attacked the Conservative party website. According to the Telegraph, hackers injected their own code to redirect visitors away from the Tory's Cash Gordon campaign website.
