Using Bix on Android
Bix lets you bring your files anywhere. Access and share your photos, videos and documents easily directly from the Bix app for Android. Any file you save to Bix can be accessed on all your computers, Android, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone.

The Bix app for Android, iPad and iPhone is currently available in English, Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish.
Logging on to Bix
Start the app and log on with the email address and the password of your Bix user.
Note: If you haven’t created a Bix user yet, please follow this guide: Creating a Bix user
Once you are logged in, you will see a list of drives. Tap the drive you want to access.
Creating a new Bix password
If you forgot your Bix password, tap Forgot Password?. Enter your email address and you will receive instructions on how to create a new password for your drive.
Getting a quick overview of your files
The tab All Files gives you a quick overview of the your files stored on Bix. Organize your files in folders and rename them to make them easy to find.
Adding files to Favorites for offline use
The Bix app enables you to access your files, even when you don’t have an internet connection. Add a file to your favorites and you’ll have access to the latest synchronized version when you are offline.
Tap Favorites from the drop-down menu, and tap the star to add the file to Favorites.
The files you have added to Favorites will be marked with a star.
Storing and playing your music
The app will automatically organize your music and video stored on Bix and place it under the Music tab. The built-in music player lets you stream your music stored on Bix.
Tap one of the categories to view your files. The music and videos will be organized by category in Songs, Artists, Albums, Videos, Composer and Genre.
You can play a track by tapping the track, or just tap Play to play all listed tracks.
Download a track by tapping Download. A green check mark indicates that the file is already downloaded to your Android device.
If you want to play videos or music without downloading, just tap the files to stream the content.
Storing photos, videos and other files
All your photos stored on Bix will automatically be accessible from the Pictures tab. View images either as thumbnails or in full screen.
To upload a file, tap Upload.
Select which file type you want to upload. You can upload photos, music, videos or any file or folder.
Sharing files in Bix
Share files placed on Bix directly from the Android app. When you share a file, it can be posted on Facebook, tweeted, copied or pasted into messages or used in your favorite app.
- View the file you want to share.
- Tap Share from the drop-down menu.
Adding a drive from another user
You can add several drives placed on different users and access them at the same time.
- Open the Bix app, and go to Settings.
- Tap Add user.
- Enter the login details for the account you want to add and tap Login.
Optimizing performance with caching
Caching improves the performance by storing a specified amount of data on your device, so you can access your files faster. You can configure File Cache and Media Cache based on your Android device’s storage capacity.
- Tap Settings
- Select the size of File Cache and Media Cache.
Protecting Bix with a passcode
It is recommended that you protect Bix with a passcode. The app will then ask for a four-digit passcode to be entered every time the Bix app is launched.
- Tap Settings.
- Tick the Passcode Lock checkbox.
- Enter a four digit passcode and confirm it by entering it again.
Encrypting Bix with a passphrase
When configuring the drive, you can choose Normal Encryption or Strong Encryption.
If you select Strong Encryption, you will be asked to create a passphrase. You will need to enter the passphrase to enter your data in Bix.
Deleting Bix files
You can delete Bix files and folders on your Android device.
- View the file or folder you want to delete, and tap Delete from the drop-down menu.
- Tap Yes to confirm the deletion.
